This Privacy Policy explains how the NightMap mobile application ("NightMap", "the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the app. By installing or using NightMap, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
NightMap is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, or contact details to use the core features of the app.
However, some data may be collected or processed when you use the app:
- Device and diagnostic data: Information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, crash logs, and general performance diagnostics may be collected to keep the app stable and functional.
- Advertising identifiers: When ads are shown, the Google Advertising ID and related identifiers may be accessed and processed by Google AdMob (see Section 4).
- Approximate usage information: Anonymous or aggregated information about how features are used, such as how many credits are used or earned, may be processed locally or by our service providers to operate the app.
- Purchase and subscription status: Whether you hold an active Pro subscription is processed through Google Play Billing (see Section 5).
We do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the app and its features.
- To display advertising to free users and to deliver rewarded ads.
- To grant and track credits, including credits earned by watching rewarded ads.
- To manage and verify Pro subscription status.
- To diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
- To comply with applicable legal obligations.
3. Free Users, Credits, and Pro Subscription
NightMap offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription.
- Free users receive credits and may see banner ads. Free users can earn additional credits by voluntarily watching rewarded video ads. Each completed rewarded ad grants 1 credit.

Your credit balance and subscription status may be stored on your device and/or processed by the services described below in order to deliver these features.
4. Ads and Rewarded Ads
NightMap uses Google AdMob to display banner ads to free users and to deliver rewarded video ads that grant credits upon completion. To serve and measure ads, Google AdMob and its partners may collect and process data, including advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, and ad interaction data, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on your consent choices and applicable regional requirements.
Consent (Google UMP)
Where required by applicable law (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other applicable regions), NightMap uses the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to present a consent flow before requesting ads. Your consent choices determine whether personalized advertising is shown. You can review or change your consent options where the app makes them available.

5. Subscriptions and Payments
Pro subscriptions are sold and processed through Google Play Billing. Payment information you provide is handled directly by Google and the Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Subscriptions are managed through your Google Play account, where you can view, change, or cancel them. Google Play’s handling of your data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy .
6. Cookies, Identifiers, and Advertising ID
NightMap does not use traditional browser cookies. However, the app and its third-party services may use device identifiers and similar technologies, including the Google Advertising ID, to deliver and measure advertising and to support core functionality.
On most Android devices you can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization through your device settings, typically under Settings → Privacy → Ads (the exact path may vary by device).
7. Third-Party Services
NightMap relies on third-party services that may independently collect and process data according to their own privacy policies. These include, but are not limited to:
- Google AdMob — AdMob & AdSense data
- Google Play / Google Play Billing — Google Privacy Policy
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent services
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
8. Children’s Privacy
NightMap is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide the app’s features, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data processed by third-party services such as Google AdMob and Google Play is retained according to those providers’ own retention policies. Locally stored data, such as your credit balance, can generally be cleared by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.
10. Your Choices and Consent
- Ad consent: Where required, you can accept or decline personalized advertising through the consent flow presented in the app.
- Advertising ID: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.
- Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your Google Play account.
- App data: You can remove locally stored data by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling NightMap.
